Many synthetically derived azaspiro [5.5] undecanes and [4.5] decanes exhibit various biological properties. Recently, three interesting spirocyclic alkaloids such as nitramine, isonitramine and sibirine were isolated. Due to their potential biological activities, we embarked on the synthesis of azaspirocyclic skeletons.
